Allison + Tyler Bozeman Elopement | Bozeman Wedding Photographer
In the process of talking with couples about weddings, I almost always hear them say "ugh, sometimes I just want to run away and elope". In fact, I had the same thoughts when I was planning my own wedding. The idea of skipping town and getting married without any of the hassle of planning a wedding is incredibly tempting. What it boils down to is this: your wedding is for you. If you're in love and want to commit to one another, the rest is icing on the cake.
The incredibly talented florist for this Bozeman elopement put this into words so well:
"Your wedding day doesn't have to be big, doesn't have to compete with images online, the guest list can be 200 or 20...the only number that matters is 2, the 2 of you".
I feel so fortunate to have been part of Allison and Tyler's wedding day. Not only was it a dream to photograph, but I gained two new friends in the process of helping them prepare for their celebration. We'd talk about plans over lunch, and giggle with excitement to be sharing this secret together. Before their honeymoon in the Tetons, I shared my favorite spots with them and we'd get distracted talking about our favorite backpacking trips. Any time I spent with Allison was more pleasure than business, and I am so grateful.
We met in the park on a Friday afternoon, and they were married by a lovely judge under the trees. We spent the evening cruising around Bozeman taking photos in all my favorite places, took a quick break for a beer, and found a private place for Allison and Tyler to share their more personalized vows. They ended the evening eating cheeseburgers downtown in their fancy clothes.
